BUTTERFLIES & MOTHS

Don’t you just love butterflies? I absolutely love teaching about Monarch Butterflies. Monarchs are the Texas state insect, and they travel up to 3,000 miles to migrate to Mexico each year. My goal is to have live monarch caterpillars and butterflies to observe although I can’t guarantee at what stage they will be in …  We will also learn about Painted Ladies (butterflies) and about silk moths. (We'll have live ones, too!)  I love silk moths and their history! Come join us as we learn about life cycles and benefits of butterflies and moths. Lots of fun, hands-on experiments and activities. Each class is limited to 10 students.

ASTRONOMY/VENUS

Get your space passports ready… We are headed to Venus! Did you know that one study states that Venus has about 85,000 thousand volcanoes? We’ll learn how volcanoes have shaped the surface of Venus and create a little volcano of our own. 😊 We’ll also compare Venus’ atmosphere with Earth’s and find out the similarities and differences. Maybe your future astronaut can help with the design of NASA’s Davinci Mission? This lab will have many hands-on activities and experiments. Come join us and don’t forget to bring your passport. (If you are new to the class, we’ll provide you with your first passport. If you have lost your passport, the replacement fee is $2.) Each class is limited to ten students.

The Power of Air

Join us for an exciting hands-on class where we explore the invisible force all around us – AIR! Through fun and surprising experiments, we’ll unlock the secrets of air pressure and Bernoulli’s Principle. Watch objects float, fly, and even defy gravity using nothing but the air we breathe. Perfect for curious minds of all ages. Come see what air can do – it’s more powerful than you think.  Ages 5-13.  Each class is limited to 10 students.
